ATTENTION ALL EMPLOYEES: Effective January 1, 2026, Colonial Life Voluntary Benefit Programs will replace UNUM Benefits, which will no longer be available via payroll deduction. To ensure uninterrupted coverage, you must meet with your FJM/Colonial Life Representative to facilitate your transition into the new Colonial Life Benefits during the current Open Enrollment period. Please Note: All Colonial Life plans are Guaranteed Issue—No Medical Questions Required—and include a Waiver of Pre-Existing Conditions during Open Enrollment and for New Hires. For assistance or questions, please complete the Info Request Form at the bottom of your State-Specific page to connect with an FJM Benefits Advisor. |
Health Insurance today is more complex than ever. Rising Deductibles, Narrower Networks, and Increasing Out-of-Pocket Costs mean that even comprehensive plans may not fully protect you when unexpected medical events occur. That’s why it’s more important than ever to consider Voluntary Benefits coverage options.
Even the most robust medical plans can leave gaps when you’re facing a major Accidental Injury or Critical Illness (Heart Attack, Stroke, Kidney or Organ Failure, Cancer). Whether receiving treatment in a hospital or outpatient clinic, you could face significant Out-of-Pocket Costs --Deductibles, Co-Pays, Uncovered Services, even Lost Income—all of which can take a serious toll on your household finances.
That’s why Voluntary Benefits from Colonial Life programs such as Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, Disability and Life Insurance are so valuable. These plans pay direct benefits tied to specific covered events, and employees are free to use those funds however they see fit—from Medical Bills to Rent, Groceries, or Travel. All these are available with No Medical Underwriting to Qualify for Coverage.
But understanding your options is just the beginning. Your FJM-Colonial Life Benefits Advisors are always available to help you think through your choices, answer questions, and provide guidance tailored to your family’s needs.
Whether you're exploring scenarios or weighing coverage options, you can count on our team to support you every step of the way. The goal is to provide Clarity, Confidence, and Peace of Mind—knowing you’ve protected what matters most.
